IIA's Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)®Exam Review- Part 3: Business Knowledge for Internal Auditing

Part 3:  Business Knowledge for Internal Auditing, November 22 & 23, 2019, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Course Structure:  This program is delivered in an engaging and interactive classroom format using the IIA's  CIA Review Learning System® course materials as the curriculum.  Each part of the program is delivered as a 2 day course.  Courses are offered 5-6 weeks apart to allow time for testing between each course offering.  Participants may register for the complete series or by individual part. The course fee includes all print and online course materials, live instruction by a practicing internal audit professionals holding the CIA credential, full service catering for class sessions.   Requirements for award of a CPE's and a certificate of completion from NIU includes participation in the classroom course and completion of all assigned onling learning activities with a score of 80% of better within 2 weeks of the classroom session.


Course Description


Part 3: Business Knowledge for Internal Auditing includes topics relative to: Business Acumen (Organizational Objectives, Behavior, and Performance; Organizational Structure and Business Processes; Data Analytics); Information Security; Information Technology (Application and System Software; IT Infrastructure and IT Control Framesworks; Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity); and Financial Management (Financial Accounting and Finance; Managerial Accounting).

Eligibility and Admission of Candidates and Award of the CIA Credential:  The CIA® credential is awarded by the Institute of Internal Auditors upon successful completion of each of the three required examinations.   It is the candidate's responsibility to confirm they meet eligibility requirements of the Institute of Internal Auditors prior to enrolling in this course.  NIU Outreach is a provider of the CIA Review Learning System Review courses but assumes no responsibility or authority for the eligibility, application and admission of candidates, examination processes and award of credentials


Course Fees and Materials:  Course fees are payable at the time of registration.  The registration fee is inclusive of the NEW v6.0 IIA's CIA Review course materials and materials shipping fee.  NIU will ship study materials to students 7-10 days prior to the start of each course.  IIA will send a separate e-mail to students with instructions for accessing the online study tools.  Participants registering within 5 days of class start may experience a brief delay in access to the Blackboard Community and online resources. NIU will invoice companies for registrations upon request and with approval of the corporate financial officer.  The company Federal Employee Identification Number (FEIN) and company Purchase Order with complete billing address including name, phone number and e-mail address of the authorizing party is required at time of registration.  Participants requesting a company invoice must register by phone (800) 345-9472. 


IL VETERANS AND IL NATIONAL GUARD GRANTS: This program is not eligible for funding under the IL Veterans and IL National Guard Grant programs.  IVG and ING grants apply only to those programs assessing tuition and mandatory fees.  NIU Outreach is licensed to deliver this program by the sponsoring professional organization.  The registration fee for this program is not based on tuition and fees and includes course materials, licensing fees, catering services and instructional costs not covered by the IVG/ING grants.  


WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) FUNDING:  Certain Illinois candidates may be eligible for funding for this program under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act  The question to be asked is "How do I go about accessing my Individual Training Account (ITA)?

Cancellation Policy:  Any cancellation requests received at least 14 days prior to class start and shipment of materials will be assessed a $300 cancellation fee.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 14 days of class start.   All cancellation requests must be in writing to: or fax (815) 753-6900.  NIU Outreach reserves the right to cancel courses within 14 days of class start if enrollments are not sufficient to cover costs of program delivery.
