SHRM 100 HR Strategies and Solutions: Transitioning to the New Norm of Doing Business

Fees/Materials:  The registration fee is inclusive of course materials distributed day of event, continental breakfast, lunch and break service. 
 
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA),  IL Veterans and IL National Guard Grant Programs:  HR Strategies and Solutions programs are NOT eligible for funding from these sources.

 

Award of Professional Development Credit: These workshops are designed to meet the criteria for award of HR business related recertification credits applicable a variety of professional organizations.  Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion awarding 6.5 hours of credit upon completion of the program and may use this as documentation when self-reporting to the body responsible for re-certification (SHRM Certification Commission, HR Certification Institute, etc.)    NIU is a SHRM Preferred Provider.

 

Course Descriptions:

 

HR STRATEGIES AND SOLUTIONS:  TRANSITIONING TO THE NEW NORM OF DOING BUSINESS - Let's talk about HR's role in supporting long-term business growth and stability through people interventions as they cope with the new norm of doing business!  This one day workshop will help HR professionals, managers and business leaders focus on what business needs must be addressed moving forward post-pandemic. Participants in this session will: Identify what it takes to manage an employee with the pandemic still fresh in their memory; Consider the plusses and minuses for Work from Home (WFH) versus Work from Office (WFO); Describe their new professional visions for their own work lives moving forward; Gain understanding of tips for making a combination WFO and WFH staff model makes sense for a business; Develop a DRAFT action plan ready for immediate implementation for future pandemic-type situations.  Instructor: John Newton SHRM-SCP, SPHR, President, John Newton and Associates

 

Cancellation, Transfer and Substitution  Policy:  Cancellation requests received at least 14 days prior to the start of class will be entitled to a 50% refund.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 14 days of class start.  Substitutions are allowed with advance notice to NIU.  Transfers to an alternate Strategies and Solutions program are permitted without penalty if the  request is made at least 14 days in advance of the class start. Transfer requests received within 14 days of class start will be assessed a $50 transfer fee.   All cancellation, transfer, and substitution requests should be submitted to Outreachregistration@ni.edu or fax (815) 753-6900.  NIU reserves the right to cancel programs within 14 days of class start if enrollments are not sufficient to cover costs of program delivery.
