SHRM 100 HR Strategies and Solutions: Managing Employees in Times of Change

Fees/Materials:  The registration fee is inclusive of course materials distributed day of event, continental breakfast, lunch and break service. 
 
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA),  IL Veterans and IL National Guard Grant Programs:  HR Strategies and Solutions programs are NOT eligible for funding from these sources.

 

Award of Professional Development Credit: These workshops are designed to meet the criteria for award of HR business related recertification credits applicable a variety of professional organizations.  Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion awarding 6.5 hours of credit upon completion of the program and may use this as documentation when self-reporting to the body responsible for re-certification (SHRM Certification Commission, HR Certification Institute, etc.)    NIU is a SHRM Preferred Provider.

 

Course Descriptions:

 

HR STRATEGIES AND SOLUTIONS:  MANAGING EMPLOYEES IN TIMES OF CHANGE - Improving people's productivity and engagement in the workplace is critical in today's business environment.  This engaging one day workshop will look at increased civil rights and post-pandemic demands and will provide participants with tips and steps to identify the unique experiences of employees in these ever-changing times.  Topics will focus on both classic employee-management considerations along with new demands for properly preparing employees through dramatic change.  Participants in this workshop will: Identify fear that employees live with today and how to effectively navigate through it; Understand the fundamentals of change theory and change management as it applies to a rapidly changing world; Create a "go-to" approach to develop truly productive employees and drive engagement simultaneously; Participate in building a strong well-timed coaching and disciplinary intervention approach; Identify how to build a culture of employee management in their own organization that will match the company mission, vision, and values.  Instructor: John Newton SHRM-SCP, SPHR, President, John Newton and Associates

 

Cancellation, Transfer and Substitution  Policy:  Cancellation requests received at least 14 days prior to the start of class will be entitled to a 50% refund.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 14 days of class start.  Substitutions are allowed with advance notice to NIU.  Transfers to an alternate Strategies and Solutions program are permitted without penalty if the  request is made at least 14 days in advance of the class start. Transfer requests received within 14 days of class start will be assessed a $50 transfer fee.   All cancellation, transfer, and substitution requests should be submitted to Outreachregistration@ni.edu or fax (815) 753-6900.  NIU reserves the right to cancel programs within 14 days of class start if enrollments are not sufficient to cover costs of program delivery.
